Who We Are
Ethiopian Christ International Church is a vibrant congregation in the heart of Indianapolis, serving the Ethiopian and Eritrean immigrant diaspora. We worship in both Amharic and English — bridging generations, cultures, and traditions in the love of Christ.
Spirit-led praise rooted in both Ethiopian tradition and Scripture — every Sunday, 12–2 PM.
Deep, verse-by-verse preaching that equips the saints and transforms lives.
A welcoming refuge for the Ethiopian & Eritrean diaspora — and anyone seeking God.
Serving body, mind, and spirit — through health outreach, immigrant support, and pastoral care.
Our Shepherd
Pastor Getachew Genetu Tegegne brings a rare and powerful calling to the pulpit — shaped at the intersection of medicine, public health, and theology. As a physician-epidemiologist and ordained minister, he shepherds with both intellectual rigor and deep pastoral compassion.
With roots in the Ethiopian community and a heart for the immigrant experience, Pastor Getachew's ministry centers on nurturing faith across generations — helping second-generation youth find their identity in Christ while honoring their cultural heritage.
"My calling is to heal the whole person — body, mind, and spirit. The pulpit and the clinic are not separate callings; they are one and the same mission."
— Pastor Getachew Genetu TegegneCurrently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) at Wesley Seminary, his research focuses on nurturing faith in second-generation Ethiopian immigrant adolescents. He is also the founder of GGT Consulting, bringing public health and clinical expertise to the broader community.
